African Headscarf - Headwrap - Doek

African headwrap / headscarf, also called an African Doek. They feature predominantly in ceremonies such as weddings, events and even funerals. In Xhosa culture a married woman must wear iqhiya, which is what they call it, around their in-laws. This is seen as a sign of respect. The African headwrap is however not unique to South Africa, it is worn by most African woman all over Africa.
