Every beautiful beadwork product on this website is handmade by the rural beaders of South Africa.

 

 

It is impossible to show every beaded product on our website in every colour-way, below are the main colours we use - we can custom make most of our beaded products in any of the below bead colours or combination of colours.

 

The ZULU bead workers categorize beads into the following two groups:

1. AFRICAN/ZULU colours: these are all the basic colour beads that do not have a shine.
2. SHINY BEADS: as the name implies these are all the glass beads that are glossy or have a metallic shine - the correct terminology is shimmer/translucent/metallic/glossy/polished etc, to keep within the African spirit that all our beadwork is made we are also calling them shiny beads.

While we have tried to be as accurate as possible to show the correct colour there may be colour variations - different computer/mobile phone screens will also show slightly different colours. The colour of the beads used in our products may differ slightly from the colour in the shown images, the colour may also differ from batch to batch due to beads being purchased from different suppliers depending on availability. We frequently receive requests for beadwork to match the Pantone colour of a Company logo - this is impossible, beads are not supplied in exact Pantone colours, the best we can offer is to get as close to the requested colour as possible. Earth Africa will accept no responsibility whatsoever for slight variations in the beadwork colours for any of the products we supply - we deal in 3rd World, handmade African products and there will always be imperfections, such is the nature of ALL AFRICAN BEADWORK.
