Medium-length African Beaded Necklace.

The 4-strand beadwork stitching technique used to create this necklace is known as Tubular Herringbone. It is handcrafted by a group of African women who work collaboratively, each contributing different lines of beads that are joined together to form tubular strings. The Beads are picked up in pairs, each new row stacks on top of the previous one, with beads leaning outward.

History: Tubular herringbone bead stitch, famously known as Ndebele weave, is a versatile, ancient beadweaving technique originating from the Ndebele tribe in South Africa.

The necklace is finished with a bobble and loop closure at the back for an elegant yet secure fit.

The piece is made using three different bead sizes:
• Size 3 (sometimes referred to as 8/0)
• Size 2
• Size 1

Packaging:
Packaged in a resealable cellophane sleeve with a swing ticket offering a short story about the Zulu beadwork women who make these necklaces.
