DO YOU SHIP WORLDWIDE?
Earth Africa is a South African registered Export Company and we ship/post/courier all our products anywhere in the world. For more info on shipping costs and shipping lead times please see TRANSPORT at the top of the page. You are also welcome to arrange your own shipping method.
HOW MUCH DOES THE SHIPPING COST?
Shipping costs are based on destination address, weight and size of the products, ie, the more products you order the higher the shipping costs, also the heavier the products the higher the shipping costs (the dimensions of every product are shown directly below the product image in the PRODUCTS CATALOGUE). Until we receive an actual order we have no way of quoting on the shipping costs. You are welcome to place an order and request a shipping quote, if you are not happy with the shipping quote you can cancel your order at any stage or arrange own transport.
WHY DO YOU NOT OFFER IMMEDIATE TRANSPORT / SHIPPING COSTS ON CHECK OUT.
While we do offer small retail purchases on our website our core business is bulk wholesale, all our products are handmade and so the weights and dimensions of all products will differ slightly rendering it impossible to offer an automatic shipping/transport quote on check out. When you place an order, it is only an order form and no payment is due on check out, on receipt of your order we will quote shipping/transport costs.
WHAT ARE MY PAYMENT OPTIONS?
1. PayFast is the safer, easier way to pay by Credit Card online. The service allows anyone to pay by Credit Card without sharing financial information. Payfast is very similar to PayPal, it is just more suited to South African Banking Laws.
Payfast also accepts Cheque Cards as long as they are Visa or Mastercard.
Payfast only accepts Visa & Mastercard - they do not accept Diners Club & American Express.
How does it work?
Earth Africa is not an Online Shop and no payments are made directly off this website. When we receive your order and have quoted you on shipping costs, delivery lead time, stock availability, and only when you are happy and have confirmed everything, will we then send you an Invoice and a PayFast Payment Request where you simply add your name and Credit Card details (much the same as you would for any other Online Purchase by Credit Card) - Earth Africa never gets to see these details and Payfast has all the necessary security measures in place to protect you - please see more on Payfast security here: https://www.payfast.co.za/b/std/security.
You do not need to have a PayFast account.
WHY DO YOU NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL?
Paypal protects the buyer at all costs and gives the seller no protection at all. Unscrupulous buyers have become aware of this - they will place a large wholesale order with Earth Africa, pay via Paypal, receive the order and sign for it with the couriers - then they contact Paypal and falsely complain that they did not receive the goods - Paypal does not even contact Earth Africa to query this, they simply deduct the funds from our account and leave us to try and recover these funds which is usually an impossible task.
PayFast, on the other hand, offers protection to BOTH the buyer and the seller - if there is a dispute they will open up a dialogue between both the buyer and the seller. In a similar situation where the buyer is trying to (falsely) claim the goods were not delivered, Earth Africa would simply send PayFast a signed copy of the courier's waybill as proof of delivery and the problem will be resolved. If the buyer has a legitimate claim against Earth Africa then PAYFAST will naturally protect them. PAYFAST have developed their systems to mutually protect the buyer and the seller - hence the reason we have chosen PAYFAST as our preferred payment system.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE GOODS?
SOUTH AFRICAN CUSTOMERS: deliveries from 1 to 7 days depending on the area and the size of the order.
INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: 14 to 21 days is the average.
On receipt of your order, you will receive a quote advising you on delivery/shipping lead time.
ARE THE WHOLESALE PRICES ON THE PRODUCTS CATALOGUE NEGOTIABLE?
Yes, they are negotiable.

If you find cheaper prices from other suppliers please let us know and we will do everything we can to better our competitors' prices.
WHAT ARE YOUR WHOLESALE PRICES?
Please find WHOLESALE LOGIN at the top of the page and register as a wholesale buyer - when you receive your username and password you can log in with these details and all the prices on the Product Catalogue will now convert to wholesale prices. When you register as a wholesale buyer you will not automatically receive a username and password - an operator will manually assess the information you have supplied, this process can take up to 24 hours and even longer if you register over the weekend as we only trade Monday to Friday.
WHAT ARE YOUR RETAIL PRICES? (for the public).
When you first go onto the website all the prices on the Product Catalogue are retail prices for the public. If you would like to buy in bulk and receive wholesale prices then please register as a wholesale buyer at the top of the page.
CAN WE USE (DOWNLOAD) IMAGES FROM YOUR WEBSITE?
All images on our website www.earthafricacurio.com are copyright and we strictly forbid the unauthorized use of these images. If you purchase goods from Earth Africa then we do offer a limited use policy, please apply for: CONSENT FOR TEMPORARY USE OF WEBSITE IMAGES / CONTENT.
HOW DO I CONVERT SA RANDS INTO INTERNATIONAL CURRENCY?
Proceed to the PRODUCTS CATALOGUE where you will find a currency converter at the top of every page which you can change to your preferred currency, all the prices will then convert to this currency.
WHY DO YOU NOT QUOTE OVER THE PHONE?
Customers phone in daily trying to get VERBAL quotes and are often upset when we ask them to send us their quote request via email, we, in turn, will respond via email with a written quote. We receive 100's of quote requests from all over the world and as a wholesaler, we are generally quoting in bulk, the only way where both the seller and buyer are protected is with a written quote. Over the years we have had numerous problems where customers have made mistakes in their ordering process and contact us to lay the blame, this is where a written quote solves the problem, had there been no written quote in place we could easily become the recipients of an unwarranted social media bad service campaign and possibly even have to offer a refund, as mentioned we are bulk wholesalers so the negative financial impact could be substantial especially in the case where the goods are custom made so they cannot be resold.
Another major factor when offering a quotation is delivery lead time, this may not be a problem when a retail customer is looking for a single item, however, when a wholesale customer is looking for large quantities then we need to be accurate as the client may need the products for an event on a specific date, it is sometimes time-consuming trying to collate information from the 1000's of rural beaders we work with, hence trying to offer a bulk order quote over the phone is not an option.

ARE ALL THE PRODUCTS ON THIS WEBSITE MADE IN AFRICA?
We guarantee every single product on this website is proudly handmade in Africa - with the exception of the Vuvuzela which is made of plastic in the East. Even though the Vuvuzela is unique to South Africa it is not manufactured locally.
